Vivek Agnihotri, in conversation with Komal Nahta, revealed that the actors would give him tough times during the shoot of Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. He said, “With Goal, the problem that I faced was actors in their contracts were adding clauses like ‘I can’t say dialogues more than two lines, or I say only these many dialogues and what not. And we had such great dialogues; Anurag was writing them, and they used to meet him at night and ask him to cut those lines or reduce the amount. He also revealed that he never wanted item number Billo Rani to be added in the football film. Vivek was told that the audience is dumb. In fact, the song was added after completing the shooting of the film. The producer Ronnie Screwvala also wanted to remove the song but couldn’t do it due to the influence of stars. While recalling how John Abraham would not be ready to deliver more than two lines, Vivek Agnihotri stated, “In all of John’s scenes, we had to shoot his face and feet separately. If someone tells me, ‘reduce my dialogues’ — why? Because you can’t say them at once? You can’t say five lines of dialogues in rhythm at once. This is your problem. Then why are you taking so much money?” Vivek Agnihotri’s last film, The Bengal Files, received negative reviews from the critics and turned out to be a flop at the box office.
