Deepika Padukone Only Shoots for 8 Hours Now: Farah Khan Takes Sly Dig At Actress' Busy Schedule In New Vlog

Deepika Padukone recently made headlines after the makers of Kalki 2898 AD announced her departure from the film’s sequel. This comes months after reports of her exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit,

which had already left fans surprised. According to several sources, her reported demands, including an eight-hour workday, a high salary, and a share in the film’s profits, allegedly didn’t sit well with director Vanga. Now, filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan has seemingly taken a sly dig at Deepika’s work-hour clause in her latest vlog.

In her recent vlog, Farah visited actor Rohit Saraf’s house with her cook Dilip. She joked about how even Rohit’s mother took less time to agree to appear on camera than Deepika.Farah quipped, “Haan itna time toh Deepika Padukone ne nahi lagaya mujhe haan bolne mein.” When Dilip asked, “Deepika ma’am kab aayengi humare show mein?” Farah teased, “Jis din tu gaon jaayega na, uss din aayegi,” adding, “Deepika ab sirf 8 ghanta shoot karti hai, usko show pe aane ka time nahi hai.”(Translation: Even Deepika Padukone didn’t take this long to say yes to me,” Farah joked. When Dilip asked, “When will Deepika ma’am come on our show?” Farah teased, “The day you go to your village, that’s when she’ll come,” and added, “Deepika only shoots for 8 hours now - she doesn’t have time to appear on our show.”)

For those unaware, Deepika welcomed her daughter, Dua, in September 2024. Since then, she's reportedly been seeking a better work-life balance by limiting her work hours.Earlier this month, production house Vyjayanthi Movies officially confirmed her departure from Kalki 2 via a statement on X, “This is to officially announce that @deepikapadukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of #Kalki2898AD. After careful consideration, we have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future projects.”

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone is currently busy with the shooting of Shah Rukh Khan's next titled King. The movie marks the theatrical debut of his daughter Suhana Khan.
