He told Variety, "People don’t get to experience how much time and effort is spent on sound and picture, and they’re seeing it at reduced quality. More than that, it’s about experiencing it at the same time with fans." Recently, Netflix films like KPop Demon Hunters, Frankenstein, and Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery have had short theatrical runs. However, in the same interview, Netflix’s chief creative officer Bela Bajaria had turned down the idea of a theatrical release. She had said, "A lot of people — a lot, a lot, a lot of people — have watched Stranger Things on Netflix. It has not suffered from lack of conversation or community or sharing or fandom. I think releasing it on Netflix is giving the fans what they want." The Stranger Things promo tour is also moving around the world to cities like Los Angeles, London, Paris, Tokyo, and more. Plenty of fans would jump for the opportunity to catch the finale in theatres instead of at home alone.
