Keanu Reeves REACTS To AI, Deepfakes That've Targetted Him In Past: Not So Much Fun At All
Keanu Reeves has reacted strongly against the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and deepfakes. Calling it "not so much fun at all," the Hollywood icon opened up about how it is impacting in the world
we live in. Keanu, who has played the iconic role of Neo in Matrix, based on a dystopian future in which humanity is unknowingly trapped inside the Matrix, a simulated reality created by intelligent machines, however holds a different view when it comes about the use of AI in real life.

Reacting to the AI-generated videos and his deepfake that got circulated on the internet, Keanu said in an interview on Today, "We're in that world... It’s not a lot of fun.""I think that happened to a lot of people. It's not a lot of fun. It's like 'hey, are you really selling this product?' No!" he added.

The John Wick actor has in the past expresses concerns about artificial intelligence too. He even revealed of added a clause in his contract to protect himself against the technology. In June 2025, a video surfaced where Keanu was seen debating on "live TV" with Elon Musk on AI. Musk was yelling that Keanu isn't smart enough to understand technology, while the actor was defending artists."I don’t mind if someone takes a blink out during an edit. But early on, in the early 2000s, or it might have been the ’90s, I had a performance changed," he said in an interview with Wired.
