Muthaiah, who is known to make films set against relationships in rural regions, has decided to step away from his comfort zone for Rambo. The film tells the story of Gowtham a ruthless heir to an education group. Then there is Ram, a kind hearted orphanage caretaker, are raised with opposing beliefs. When a woman exposes Gowtham's dark secrets, the two men face off in a brutal test of power and fists. Talking about the film, Muthaiya said, “This film gave me the opportunity to experiment with a new style of storytelling. Collaborating with Arulnithi brought a fresh energy to the project, and I truly hope audiences enjoy watching Rambo.”The technical crew includes Ghibran scoring the music and RD Rajasekar as the cinematographer. Actors Tanya Ravichandran, VTV Ganesh, Abhirami and others are also part of the cast of Rambo. Rambo is touted to be a sports drama and marks the first time he is collaborating with Arulnithi.Meanwhile, Arulnithi was last seen in the horror thriller film Demonte Colony 2, which released in 2024. Directed by filmmaker Ajay Gnanamuthu, the makers have planned a horror thriller franchise which has four parts, with the third part in the making. Arulnithi returns for the third instalment.
