What is the story about?

Diane
Keaton never really played the part of a glamorous movie star. She was in iconic films and she dated some of the biggest stars of her generation, and yet she somehow remained other and defiantly herself despite so many years working in the Hollywood system. Eccentric and approachable, with a sort of effervescent charm, it’s no surprise that she played muse to so many, from Woody Allen to Nancy Meyers. The actress passed away on October 11 at the age of 79 and Nancy Meyers has penned a special tribute for her.

In a lengthy Instagram post shared on October 13, Meyers wrote, "These past 48 hours have not been easy. Seeing all of your tributes to Diane has been a comfort. As a movie lover, I’m with you all — we have lost a giant. As a filmmaker, I’ve lost a connection with an actress that one can only dream of. We all search for that someone who really gets us, right? Well, with Diane, I believe we mutually had that. She goes deep. And I know those who have worked with her know what I know … she made everything better."I'll Miss You Forever Di: Nancy Pens For Diane
Meyers recalled working with Keaton on Something’s Gotta Give, and added, "She was fearless, she was like nobody ever, she was born to be a movie star, her laugh could make your day and for me, knowing her and working with her — changed my life. Thank you Di. I’ll miss you forever." The 1987 film Baby Boom marked the first time Keaton and Meyers worked together. The two have worked in many films together, including Father of the Bride, Father of the Bride II and were close on a personal level too.Do you find this article useful?
