Jailer 2 is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action comedy film written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. It is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. A sequel to Jailer (2023), the film stars Rajinikanth reprising his role as the titular character, alongside Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Mirnaa reprising their roles, with S. J. Suryah, joining the cast. Shiva Rajkumar, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Mithun Chakraborty make cameo appearances, with the former reprising his role. After the release of the first film in 2023, the sequel will hit the theatres on 12 June 2026.Bollywood veteran Mithun Chakraborty is all set to share screen space with Superstar Rajinikanth in Jailer 2. He is said to play a full-fledged role, which is instrumental to the film's story.Previously, Rajinikanth made special appearances in two of Mithun Chakraborty's films. One was in Hindi (Bhrastachar, 1989) and another one in Bengali (Bhagya Devta 1997). Rajinikanth was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie.
