Shaan's Exclusive Interview
After a successful tribute to the legendary singer Kishore Kumar, Shaan sat down for an exclusive chat with Zoom and shared how he gets mistaken for Sonu Nigam 'quite often.' He said, "Someone wrote a poem for me, and it was beautiful, but the last line was funny. They said, 'There's nobody like Sonu Nigam,' and I said, 'Very nice.' But then they realized they had made a mistake and said, 'No, no, the last line is wrong.' The last line was supposed to be 'There's nobody like Shaan.' It was like a cut-paste job, but the last line didn't match." Further, talking about his USP as a singer, Shaan added, "My USP is that whenever people listen to me, they say that even when I'm singing, it feels like I'm smiling. So, I think I'm a smiling singer. Udit Narayan ji also has that quality. But what could be another USP for a singer? As you mentioned, when a song is composed, the lyrics are written, and the music is arranged, the singer's job is to bring it to life. If the song reminds the audience of another song, what can the singer do about it? The singer has sung it beautifully in their own voice."
