Stranger Things 5 Finale Editing 'Behind Schedule' - Duffer Bros Tease 'Craziest Episode', Feel Grateful 'Kids Didn't Get Ruined'
Stranger Things finale is going to be "one of the biggest and craziest episodes," its creators Duffer Brothers have teased. Matt and Ross Duffer shared how Stranger Things season 5 will witness a complete
showdown in Hawkins as every character will embark on taking down Vecna from the word go. The Netflix fan-favourite series is returning for its fifth and final season, which is expected to bring a whole lot of emotional meltdown, epic battles, and the Upside Down's final takeover, split into three parts.
'Mission mode' on from episode 1
In an interview with Variety, Matt Duffer shared the siblings' excitement. "One thing we're really excited about with this season is just that it really, from the very beginning, our characters are active, they're searching for Vecna. This isn't going about normal life, and then some supernatural thing happens, and then they solve this mystery, which we usually do. This is them active, which is exciting about. They are going on a mission mode in episode 1, which is great."
While he claims the show will get into action immediately, it'll also bring forth one of the "craziest episodes" the Duffers have ever done. "We are also excited in terms of the release pattern that we knew what it was, unlike season 4, which got split up due to the pandemic. It wasn't written towards that. We designed the story specifically for the release change, so it's like we built that first four episodes with releases on Thanksgiving is really building to, you know, one of the biggest, craziest episodes that we've ever done," Matt added, claiming that they are "behind schedule" on editing the final episode. But, they claim it will be finished "shortly." Matt further said that the cast as a "family" and they're grateful the kids "didn’t get ruined by this experience [as child stars]."
