
The investigation into the Khedkar case has taken a fresh turn after the arrest of bodyguard Praful Salunkhe, who has reportedly made key disclosures to police, sources told Times Now. Salunkhe told investigators that Manorama Khedkar instructed him and Dilip Khedkar to flee their Pune residence shortly after police visited the home on September 14. He claimed that he and Dilip left in the same Toyota Land Cruiser, while Manorama departed separately.The bodyguard further revealed that Dilip later directed the driver to abandon the vehicle and go into hiding. Navi Mumbai police have since traced the SUV’s location and are preparing to seize it, sources said.Alongside the search for Manorama and Dilip Khedkar, investigators are also pursuing an unidentified
person accused of erasing CCTV footage from the family’s residence. The missing video is believed to have captured both the Khedkars’ escape and the presence of a truck helper at the property.Navi Mumbai police arrested Salunkhe in connection with a road rage incident that escalated into abduction and confinement of a truck helper, officials said Saturday. He was detained on Friday from Sindhkhed in Dhule district. He is in police custody till September 24, Rahul Dhas, ACP Rabale Division, Navi Mumbai said.Police said the case stems from a September 13 clash on Mulund-Airoli Road, when a concrete mixer truck brushed against a Toyota Land Cruiser. After an argument, Dilip Khedkar and Salunkhe allegedly forced truck helper Pralhad Kumar Chouhan into the SUV and took him to the Khedkars’ Pune residence.Investigators found Chouhan confined in a watchman’s room, where he was served stale food and threatened to pay damages, officials said. He was later rescued by police despite resistance from Puja’s mother, Manorama Khedkar.Police have booked the accused under kidnapping, wrongful confinement for extortion, voluntarily causing hurt, and other sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.Dilip and Manorama Khedkar remain at large. Meanwhile, Puja Khedkar faces separate cases for allegedly misusing caste and disability benefits in her UPSC civil services application. The UPSC has filed a criminal complaint, and Delhi Police have registered an FIR.The ACP added that police is now preparing to issue a look out notice against Dilip and Manorama.
