'Shattered': TVK Chief Vijay After Stampede At His Rally Leaves 36 Dead

TVK chief Vijay, the actor-turned-politician, on Saturday said that he was shattered after stampede at his rally in Tamil Nadu's Karur left at least 36 dead.In a statement on X, formerly Twitter, Thalapathy Vijay said, "My heart is shattered, I am enduring unbearable grief and sorrow that words cannot express."

"I extend my deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of my dear brothers and sisters who lost their lives in Karur. I pray for the speedy recovery of those undergoing treatment in hospitals," the actor-turned-politician added.

Vijay did not meet the media which was waiting at Tiruchirappalli and Chennai airports following the stampede and rather took to X to respond to the fatal incident.
