Parmeet Sethi Reveals Being Replaced From Films Due To Heroes Insecurities: Mujhe Ye Overpower Kar Rahe Hain

Parmeet Sethi, husband of actress Archana Puran Singh, made his Bollywood debut with the Yash Raj blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ), where he played the role of Kajol’s fiancé and the antagonist,
Kuljeet. In a recent interview, the actor opened up about why he didn’t receive substantial roles after the film’s success.
Typecast After DDLJ
In a candid chat with Pinkvilla, Parmeet Sethi reflected on his career post-DDLJ. He shared, “Mujhe logon ne chote mote, side mein khade hone vale villain vale roles offer kiye, ya main villain ka beta, it was that kind of roles jo mujhe nahi samjh aaye. I don't know what happened, maybe I was so hated for my role, I don't know.”(Translation: “People offered me small, side roles as a villain, or the villain’s son, those kinds of roles that didn’t make sense to me. When Heroes Felt Insecure
The actor also revealed that a few heroes felt insecure about sharing screen space with him. He added, “Ek do filmein thi jahan pe mujhe main villain cast karne ke baad thank you very much bol diya gaya kyunki the hero said ki mujhe ye overpower kar rahe hain. So yes, insecurities happen, I don't blame anybody.”(Translation: “There were one or two films where I was cast as the main villain, but later I was replaced because the hero felt that I was overpowering him.
