In Latur, more than 500 citizens were housed in relief camps after roads and bridges were submerged.10. Relief Camps and Aid MeasuresIn Solapur, 4,002 people were rescued, with nearly 6,500 staying in relief camps. Families are being given Rs 10,000 in cash, along with rice and wheat. The Akshaya Patra Foundation has stepped in to provide food, while fodder supplies are being arranged for livestock. Large-scale health camps will begin this week to address rising concerns of waterborne diseases.

Maharashtra is expected to witness more rain in the coming days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a ‘red alert’ for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad districts, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds until Tuesday. In Nashik, heavy rain warnings remain in place, with stormy weather predicted over the next 48 hours. While Marathwada may see a slight reduction in intensity after the weekend’s deluge, excess rainfall is likely to continue across several districts, including Beed, Nanded and Parbhani. In Vidarbha, light to moderate showers are expected in Gondia, and very light rain in Nagpur, Wardha and Bhandara.
