Khan's upcoming film with Rajkumar Hirani has reportedly been put on hold. The Dadasaheb Phalke Biopic which would mark their third film together now has issues with the script as Aamir has requested Hirani along with Abhijit Joshi to 'rewrite and come back.'

As per reports by Bollywood Hungama, "Aamir Khan heard the script of Dadasaheb Phalke from Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi. He felt that the script didn't have enough elements to make for a theatrical watch. He expected Raju and Abhijat to have a typical approach of mixing laughter with emotion and drama. But the script was devoid of comedy. This raised a doubt in the mind of Aamir, and he requested Raju to rewrite the script and come back." The film, which was to start in the month of October 2025, is no longer on track to go on floors next month. Things are on a standstill at the moment, and Aamir has already started to hunt for more scripts. He is hearing subjects from all across the industries," the insider further added.

Recently, during an interview with Komal Nahte, Aamir Khan said, "Stars should get recognition, but not to a point where they start to trouble the producers. There was a system that the producer will pay for the star’s driver and his help on set. I found this practice very strange. I thought, ‘The driver and the help is working for me, why is the producer paying for it?’ If the producer is paying my personal staff, does that mean he will also start paying for my kids’ school fees?
