Kiran Rao, who is celebrating the massive success of her film Laapataa Ladies, which bagged 13 prestigious honours at the 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 with Gujarat Tourism, has now dropped hints about
a possible sequel. While expressing her excitement, the filmmaker said she’s currently basking in the film’s recognition and audience love.
Kiran Rao talks about Laapataa Ladies sequel
During an exclusive conversation with Zoom, Kiran Rao explained, "People have asked me about the sequel. The idea behind the film
The filmmaker also revealed the idea behind the story and how she managed to put it up out there for the audience as she said, "The idea was to show that women, over the world, need the same opportunities, they need to be given freedom, and then its upto them to choose the kind of life they live.
