Janhvi Kapoor on the pressure of beauty standards on young girls
Janhvi shared that she has chosen to be transparent about her experiences because she doesn’t want to contribute to unrealistic beauty expectations. She said, “I don't believe in gatekeeping. I was one of the young girls who was very impressionable with the onset of social media and seeing everyone being judged and look in a certain way. And I don’t want to perpetuate to young girls this idea of perfection. I'm a big believer of you do you, do whatever makes you happy. I would be very happy to be a completely open book about things.”ALSO READ: Two Much With Kajol And Twinkle Episode 5 Review: Karan Johar, Janhvi Kapoor Take Over Talk Show In Style
Janhvi REFUTES rumours of 'buffalo-plasty', talks about Sridevi's guidance
The Param Sundari actress also addressed the bizarre online rumours surrounding her appearance, particularly the viral videos that claim she underwent a procedure called “buffalo-plasty.” Clearing the air with grace, she said that her late mom supported her, “I think I have been very intelligent, conservative and proper about what I have done. Of course I had the guidance of my mom and I'd like to share that. Also as a cautionary tale because if a young girl sees a video like this and decides mujhe bhi ye buffalo-plasty karna hai, and if something goes wrong, that would be the worst thing ever. I think transparency is important.”Janhvi’s candid conversation reminded audiences that authenticity and openness are powerful, especially in an industry often obsessed with perfection.
