last eight episodes of Stranger Things are also its costliest. Netflix has gone all out for the last season of one of its biggest shows, as the budget has doubled from Season 4 to Season 5. Stranger Things Season 5 cost Netflix $60 million per episode

According to the Puck newsletter, Netflix spent around $50 to $60 million per episode for Stranger Things Season 5, taking its total to $400 to $480 million. In comparison, the fourth season of Stranger Things reportedly cost $30 million per episode. However, the previous season had nine episodes compared to one less for the last season.

The budget of $480 million is more than what some of the films released in 2025 had. The recent sequel Jurassic World Dominion had a budget of $465 million net, and the fifth season easily surpasses that. This is not the first time Netflix has shelled out the big bucks for its flagship series. The Witcher Season 4, which is premiering on October 30, cost $221 million for eight episodes, as per a report in Forbes. Each episode of the series cost around $27.6 million.
