video has gone viral showing a group of people celebrating Diwali in New Jersey, where the fireworks reportedly went out of control, prompting fire department and police officials to arrive at the scene. The video has sparked a massive debate online, with many criticizing that Diwali can be celebrated without creating a nuisance.The video was shared on Instagram by a user identified as Mukul Verma. It shows some Indians lighting fireworks during Diwali; however, when the situation escalated, police and fire department officials arrived to manage the crowd and douse the fireworks.

The user also clarified, "Just to clarify — this Diwali celebration was fully permitted by the state, and fireworks were officially allowed. All safety measures like roadblocks, ambulance & fire brigade were arranged by the city. Someone from the crowd suddenly lit skyshots which weren’t allowed, so the fire brigade sprayed water only for safety — not to stop Diwali. The police were managing the crowd. Many criticised the incident, while others defended the celebrants, saying they were just enjoying the festival like any other. One wrote, "Yeh bimari America tak pahuch gai kya." Another remarked, "'Just to clarify' does not clarify anything at all. Firstly, it should be within limits, but when uneducated people get out of control, all this drama takes place." Another commented, "Bhai, bahar to saaf safai rehne do," while one more said, "Talking like they don't burst firecrackers on New Year lol."
