OpenAI To Launch Short AI-Generated Video App, Will Compete With TikTok And Instagram
OpenAI has been working on multiple projects that will change the way we use basic apps, or you can say compete with the basic ones with an AI twist. In a recent report by Wired, it has been revealed that the platform
is working on a TikTok-style short video app that will consist of only AI-generated videos. Reports suggests that the project will be backed by Sora 2, OpenAI's upcoming video model, which the ChatGPT maker could announce pretty soon. The app is still under works and expectations are that it will have a short-video format in vertical layout, clubbed with swipe-to-scroll design. However, the biggest differentiating factor between OpenAI's app will be that all the videos will be generated by AI, and people will not have the option to upload any files from their gallery. This will definitely revolutionize the video creation segment as the creativity will be completely shifted to the shoulder of AI.
A Little About Sora 2
Multiple reports related to the upcoming AI video generation model by OpenAI, Sora 2, have suggested that it will be producing videos that are around 10 seconds in length or even less. Comparing it to the traditional platforms like TikTok that offer up to 10 minutes of video upload, the number falls pretty short. And until now, it has also not been revealed if Sora will be able to generate longer videos in being used independently or not. Also Read:Sam Altman's OpenAI Brings New Feature 'Pulse' for ChatGPT, Here's How It Works Furthermore, the app by OpenAI is rumoured to get an identity verification system. For example, if a user chooses to verify themselves, the model will be able to create videos using their physical aspects. To curb the misuse, OpenAI has already said that it plans to send notifications to individuals when their image is being used, even if the video is not being posted on the platform for public viewing. The report by Wired has also revealed that OpenAI's new video generation model will also block outputs in case it finds any copyright concerns. And this move is also going to strengthen the position of OpenAI as an AI umbrella that has more to cover and offer to the end user.
