Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal's interfaith marriage

In a previous interview, Sonakshi spoke about her interfaith marriage with Zaheer and how their different religious backgrounds never became an obstacle in the relationship. She further highlighted that the couple respects each other’s culture. Sonakshi told Hauterrfly, “Zaheer aur main religion ko dekh hi nahi rahe the. Here are two people in love with each other and want to get married. He’s not enforcing his religion on me, I am not enforcing my religion on him. We never sit and talk (about religion). We appreciate and understand each other’s cultures. They follow certain traditions at their house, I follow mine at my house. Mere Diwali puja mein voh aake baithta hai, main unke niyaz pe baithti hu, that’s all that matters. I respect them and their culture, they respect me and my culture.” Sonakshi and Zaheer got married at her Bandra residence on June 23, 2024. A star-studded reception was held at Bastian in Mumbai for the film industry.
