
Srinagar Police on Wednesday arrested a Lashkar-e-Taiba (TRF) operative from South Kashmir for helping Pahalgam terror attackers. The arrested individual has been identified as Mohammad Yousuf Katari, 26, from Kulgam district. He is believed to have provided logistical support to the terrorists killed during Operation Mahadev, a counter-terrorism operation in the region."Terrorists killed in Operation Mahadev were involved in the Pahalgam terror attack. The arrested individual had provided them logistical support," officials said, confirming the arrest.Katari's arrest was prompted by the analysis of weapons and other material recovered during Operation Mahadev, officials added.Earlier, Indian Army para commandos killed three terrorists on the outskirts
of Srinagar during an encounter on July 29.The group included Sulieman, also known as Asif, who is believed to have masterminded the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people, mostly tourists.The other two, Jibran and Hamza Afghani, were involved in previous attacks. Jibran took part in the Sonamarg Tunnel attack in October 2024.In response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terrorist infrastructure in territories controlled by Pakistan. The strikes triggered four days of intense clashes that ended with an understanding on stopping the military actions on May 10.
