Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Manoj Bajpayee wrote, "Deeply saddened by the passing of Asrani Sir. Working with him in Dus Tola was a privilege. The actor's last rites were also performed in the city at the Santacruz crematorium. The veteran's death was confirmed by his nephew Anand Asrani. Hours before his passing, the veteran actor-director, took to Instagram to wish his fans a Happy Diwali. Speaking to ETimes, Asrani's manager, Mr. Thiba confirmed the shocking news and revealed details of the veteran star's final moments. He said, "He was not feeling well and was admitted to Arogya Hospital four days ago due to breathing issues. He passed away at around 3 PM today. His last rites were performed at 8 PM today.
