Actor-turned-politician Vijay returned to his residence in Chennai's Neelankarai last night following the tragic stampede in Karur, where 39 people were killed at his rally. Times Now has learnt that following the incident, Vijay's house has been fortified and on Sunday morning, the local police deployed additional security outside his residence. At least 15 personnel from the Neelankarai police station have been stationed outside his residence. The beefed-up security comes amid heightened tensions following the tragedy in Karur, which has sparked questions over safety arrangements at the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president's political event. TVK has alleged that the tragedy was not accidental but a result of "conspiracy" and moved the Madras
HC. However, Director General of Police G Venkataraman said the crowd swelled well beyond expectations due to the delayed arrival of the actor-politician.
