had its reunion on September 20, as Sehun officially got discharged from the military. He was the last member to complete his mandatory service, marking a big day for the band's fandom, EXO-L. They now await with bated breath for EXO's big comeback with a new album. Days ago, the group's official social media handles had teased a possible return later this year.
Sehun gets discharged, EXO reunites
Meanwhile, Sehun, who enlisted on December 21, 2023, served as a social service worker and completed his alternative military service in 21 months. The 31-year-old's discharge marks the end of, what fans call, EXO's "military enlistment era." Soon after Sehun's discharge, the group announced "EXO PLAN [IT]", which fans guessed is a live broadcast which will have Suho, Chanyeol, Kai, and Sehun participating in it.
Recently, Sehun announced his return to civilian life with an update on his official Instagram story. Sharing a photo of his dog Vivi, and another click inside the recording studio, he hinted that EXO is already working on their upcoming full-group comeback.

EXO's speculated comeback
Earlier this month, on the night of Blood Moon Eclipse (September 8), EXO had put out a mysterious poster on social media with the caption "DECEMBER, 2025." It sparked fan frenzy about their impending comeback album. The photo said, "When we become true one, a new world awakens." It also had a modified version of a narration from EXO's
Mama music video which released on April 7, 2012. "The day the Red Force is purified and the legends reunite into one perfect root, a new world shall open up," the text read. EXO made their debut in 2012, and emerged as one of the leading K-pop groups globally.
