verdict is in after the first teaser of Netflix's People We Meet On Vacation and audiences agree that Emily Bader and Tom Blyth are the perfect Poppy and Alex. Based on the best-selling rom-com by Emily Henry, the film follows the childhood best friends who go on vacation every summer. But as their friendship develops into something more, will either one acknowledge their feelings. Check out the first teaser below!

On X, Netflix posted the teaser with the caption, "How are they gonna be *just* friends? PEOPLE WE MEET ON VACATION, a new film based on the bestselling rom-com by Emily Henry, premieres January 9." The teaser opens with a cute clip of the friends meeting at an airport with Alex (Bader) singing along with her headphones on. The video teases the locations the film will showcase, from New Orleans to Barcelona. But most importantly, the teaser shows the rom-com's perfect casting, as the actors fit right in as their characters.

The official synopsis states, "Every summer for nearly a decade, free-spirited Poppy and buttoned-up Alex embark on a travel adventure, but after years of not speaking, one fateful trip brings them back together to confront their unspoken feelings for one another." The ensemble cast of the rom-com includes The White Lotus star Sarah Catherine Hook, Jameela Jamil, Emily in Paris actor Lucien Laviscount, Lukas Gage, Miles Heizer, Tommy Do, Alice Lee, Alan Ruck, and Molly Shannon. The screenplay for the film is written by Yulin Kuang; she is also writing and directing another Emily Henry adaptation, Beach Read.
