Produced by Dulquer Salmaan, the film is the first female superhero movie and it is winning hearts. The film's producer Dulquer Salmaan has shared an update about OTT streaming details of the Lokah Chapter 1 on his social media. He posted “Lokah isn’t coming to OTT anytime soon. Ignore the fake news and stay tuned for official announcements!” His post came after several reports have stated that the movie’s digital release date had been finalised and it was supposedly set to release in October.

Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra is the first part of a planned five-part franchise by Dominic Arun. Kalyani plays a yakshi (vampire) named Chandra/Neeli in the film. The next part will be headlined by Tovino Thomas, who plays a goblin named Chathan. Dulquer Salmaan is also plays an odiyan/shapeshifter in the film named Charlie. Mammootty, who plays Moothon is their leader. Lokah: Chapter 1- Chandra continues its record breaking victory the box office. The film in its 24 day run at the box office has already become the highest grossing malayalam film across the globe, it also became only the 3rd film to cross Rs 100 crore just from Kerala and it is also the highest grossing female led film from South of India beating Keerthy Suresh’s award-winning drama Mahanati.

In close a month's run, the film has collected Rs 137.75 crore as per Sacnilk, occupying the 3rd spot in the list of highest grossing female led films of Indian Cinema. The spot was earlier held by Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiwadi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
