
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday visited Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of several major development projects aimed at boosting infrastructure, connectivity, and cultural heritage in the Northeast.The Prime Minister arrived at the Donyi Polo Airport in Hollongi around 9 am and later addressed a rally at Indira Gandhi Park. During his Arunachal visit, Modi laid the foundation stones for the Tato-I and Heo hydropower projects on the Yarjep River in the Shi Yomi district. Together, these initiatives are part of infrastructure projects worth nearly Rs 5,000 crore.In Tawang, Modi inaugurated a state-of-the-art convention centre constructed under the PM-DevINE scheme at a cost of Rs 145.37 crore. With
a capacity to host more than 1,500 people, the centre is expected to significantly boost tourism and cultural activities in the region. Additionally, he launched several key infrastructure projects worth over Rs 1,290 crore, spanning connectivity, health services, and fire safety facilities.Following his visit to Arunachal Pradesh, the Prime Minister travelled to Tripura, where he performed puja and darshan at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Matabari. He also inaugurated the temple complex’s development works, further strengthening the cultural and spiritual heritage of the state. The Prime Minister’s visit highlights the government’s continued focus on the Northeast, with special emphasis on renewable energy, infrastructure growth, and promotion of tourism and cultural assets.
