Taking to his official Instagram handle, Vikram reacted to being conferred with the prestigious award and wrote, “I am truly honoured and humbled to receive the Kalaimamani Award for 2022 from the Government of Tamil Nadu. A big thank you to them and the esteemed jury for this recognition. To my family, my producers, directors, technicians, colleagues, well-wishers, and my audience — your constant love and encouragement mean the world to me. About Kalaimamani Awards
The Tamil Nadu government recently announced the list of Kalaimamani Award winners for 2021, 2022, and 2023, along with the Bharathiyar, M.S. Subbalakshmi, and Balasaraswathi awards. For 2021, the awardees included actors SJ Suryah, Sai Pallavi, director Lingusamy, and stunt coordinator Super Subbarayan. Vikram Prabhu was honoured for 2022 alongside veteran actor Jaya V.C. Guhanathan, lyricist Vivek, PRO Diamond Babu, and still photographer T. Lakshmikanthan.In 2022, Vikram Prabhu featured in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan: I as Parthibendra Pallava and also starred in Taanakkaran, directed by Tamizh. The 2023 Kalaimamani awardees include actor K. Manikandan, actor George Mariyan, music composer Anirudh, singer Swetha Mohan, dance choreographer Sandy, and PRO Nikil Murugan.The awards will be presented by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at a grand ceremony scheduled to take place next month at Kalaivanar Arangam.
