The 72-year-old actor, beloved by fans for over five decades, had stepped away from filming to focus on his treatment. As the actor recently resumed the shoot for Patriot, fans were in for a visual treat as they got to see the teaser of his upcoming film.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the actor wrote, "#PATRIOT official teaser." The one-minute 21-second teaser is packed with intriguing moments and action-packed sequences. Patriot boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Mohanlal, Nayanthara, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, and Darshana Rajendran. Mahesh, known for his previous works Take Off and C U Soon, revealed that about 65–70 per cent of the film is already complete.The team has shot in various locations, including the UAE, Sri Lanka, and parts of India. The remaining scenes will mainly be filmed in Kerala and the UK. Mammootty’s Health Scare

In March, reports emerged that Mammootty was taking a break from films due to health concerns. At the time, his team swiftly shut down rumors that he was battling cancer. By August, Mammootty shared the good news of his recovery, while his close friend and co-star, Mohanlal, publicly revealed that he had been praying for him throughout his treatment.

The next phase of filming will focus on pivotal scenes featuring Mammootty and Mohanlal, followed by a schedule in the UK. Actor Ramesh Pisharody also confirmed that Mammootty will be involved in scenes to be shot in Hyderabad. Alongside him, Fahadh Faasil and Kunchacko Boban will also be part of the upcoming shoot.
