Recording videos or taking random interviews in Delhi's Connaught Place is something that has been going on for ages. By this point in time, social media has seen far too many of such videos- where CP acted as THE place for influencers, YouTubers, and such crowds. With something similar in mind, this Delhi influencer was also busy interviewing a woman- for her Instagram page. However, the task, which is rather normal for most Delhiites visiting CP, turned into a nightmare as the influencer- Sonali Singh- allegedly got interrupted by a cop. Later, taking to social media, Singh shared a video of her confronting the police officer, who was allegedly asking her not to take the video as it was ‘against a rule set’ by authorities. However, the influencer did
not give in and continued to ask more about the unheard-of rule.Soon, she was joined by another woman, who also sided with the influencer and began to question the cop. Claiming to be a lawyer, the stranger further stated that there was no such rule, along with asking the cop to focus on other grave matters.Singh, on the other hand, then stated that the officer simply wanted her to ‘listen’ to him, for which he even tried to scare her away. Dubbing the entire incident a result of an ‘ego fight’, the woman chastised the cop and raised questions on the cop’s intention. As soon as the clip went viral, netizens began to react. Most found the incident ‘problematic’ as many called the cop’s ‘no video rule’ made-up, while some began to complain about how police often ‘focus on non-trivial issues’.Times Now could not confirm the details and the authenticity of the post. “He thought that he would pressurize me by taking names like SP and DCP. He just wanted me to listen to him- it was an ego fight. I don’t know what was illegal about it. It was so discouraging and disheartening to see that even when you mind your business peacefully- the police can come to interrupt you, but when other bigger issues unfold in Delhi, they don’t take any action,” the woman was heard saying in her viral post.
