Akshay Kumar talks about passing on values to daughter Nitara
Addressing a question about teaching Nitara the importance of money, Akshay said, “I don’t think I need to. No one really needs to explain it to anyone. Everyone uses their own mind and sees it for what it is. Everyone sitting here, we’re all here to earn money. Even you, the one asking me this question, you’re doing your work, managing so many things, and you’re doing it for money, not just for fun. So, that’s nothing unusual. I don’t have to teach anybody about money.”The actor further emphasised that peace of mind should always take precedence over wealth. “Everybody knows the importance of money. But what’s more important than money is peace of mind. That’s what I always go for. Yes, I work hard, I work for money, but if I have to choose between the two, I’ll always choose peace of mind over money,” he added.
Akshay, who often speaks fondly of his family, also shared insights about his bond with his son Aarav. In an earlier conversation with ABP, the actor mentioned that while his wife, Twinkle Khanna, takes a stricter approach at home, he prefers to be more easy-going. “I’m not the strict one — that job belongs to my wife. She’s very serious and keeps all three of us — me, Nitara, and Aarav — in line. I’m more like a friend to my son,” he shared. He described Aarav as a mature and focused young man and said, “He’s 23 now and has grown up very fast. He’s studying at the university and is deeply involved in his academics. He has no bad habits and is more like his mother, who has always been fond of studying.
When it comes to Aarav’s career path, Akshay admitted that his son has chosen not to follow in his footsteps. “He has made it clear that he doesn’t want to come into films. I’ve even told him to take over my production company someday, but he isn’t interested. His passion lies in fashion — he wants to be a designer, and that’s what he’s studying right now. He’s happy in that life, and I respect that,” Akshay added.Although the actor confessed he would love to see Aarav in films one day, he also expressed complete support for his son’s independent choices. “I want him to come into films, but I’m also happy with his decision. What matters to me most is that he’s content and doing something he loves,” said the actor. Stay tuned for more updates!
