You Can Use Arattai: Supreme Court Tells This To Lady Doctor Who Wanted Her WhatsApp Access Back

In India, a lot of small businesses and individuals rely on WhatsApp for majority of their business. Same was the case with DR Raman Kundra who took her WhatsApp account suspension to the supreme court, only to get a pretty unique advice. The Supreme Court dismissed her petition and suggested that her access to WhatsApp doesn't come under fundamental rights which is why a case cannot sustain against WhatsApp. While Dr Kundra argued that the access to WhatsApp is very important for her business to survive, the bench led by Justice Sanjiv Khanna came to a conclusion WhatsApp is a private firm and the users can not be bound by its terms of service. The court also asked the doctor in picture here to starting using a WhatsApp alternative like Arattai.

Why Court Said So?

The Supreme Court focused on the fact that access to any private digital platforms like WhatsApp doesn't come under the Constitution of India. Further, the court said that the access to these platforms could be necessary for individuals but they cannot claim entitlement to services that are operated privately.What's more is that the bench led by Justice Sanjiv Khurana has declined to entertain any matters related to the matter claiming that WhatsApp account suspension results in violation of free speech.Also Read: Arattai vs WhatsApp: 5 Reasons Why Zoho’s Chat App Deserves Your Attention The court order said, 'Ms. Mahalaxmi Pawni, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioners, upon instructions, seeks permission to withdraw petition with liberty to the petitioners to avail such other remedy as may be available under law before appropriate forum.'Talking about Arattai, the Indian instant-messaging app has changed the whole scenario in the Indian market. Its early adoption went from 3000 to 350000 per day in just a week. Furthermore, Zoho, parent company of Arattai, has also decided to bring new features for the app, especially End To End encryption which will make it a more fierce rival against WhatsApp in the Indian market.
