A surprising video from Haryana’s Sonipat district has gone viral — not for festive cheer, but for a protest that has everyone talking. In the now-trending clip, reportedly filmed in Ganaur’s industrial
area, several factory workers can be seen furiously tossing their Diwali gifts — boxes of Soan Papdi — outside the company gate in protest. The ground is soon covered with the sweet boxes, a scene that has divided social media users over issues of gratitude, respect, and employee dissatisfaction. The video begins with a group of workers gathered near the company’s entrance, holding identical boxes of Soan Papdi — a sweet often joked about online for being the most “re-gifted” Diwali treat. But this time, the humour turned into anger. The employees, visibly upset, started throwing the boxes one by one onto the ground, encouraging others to do the same instead of taking them home.Their actions seemed to go beyond the sweets themselves — reflecting disappointment over what they perceived as a lack of appreciation from their employer. Many reportedly expected bonuses, incentives, or more thoughtful gifts instead of the same old Soan Papdi box.
