Adani Green Talks 2025 Spotlights Innovation, Social Impact And ‘Second Freedom Struggle’

Group chairman Gautam Adani, inaugurating the event, urged India to embark on what he called a “second freedom struggle” - not for political independence, but for self-reliance in technology and social innovation. He said young entrepreneurs would play a central role in building solutions that strengthen democracy and bridge social divides.Adani reflected on success stories from past Green Talks, including GenRobotics, whose machines replaced manual scavenging, Navalt’s solar-electric ferries, and Marut Drones’ “Drone Didis of Kashi,” which trained women as agri-entrepreneurs. “Each of these examples shows how perseverance can change the odds,” he said.This year’s edition showcased five entrepreneurs:Abhishek Chhazed (Recyclex): developing greener building materials to reduce emissions.Akshita Sachdeva & Bonny Dave (Trestle Labs): expanding Kibo, an assistive tech platform for the visually impaired.Manoj Sanker (Nemocare Wellness): building affordable neonatal and maternal healthcare devices.Jenil Gandhi & Manan Vyas (Avinya Leather): creating plant-based, cruelty-free vegan leather.Sowmya Balendiran (Sea6 Energy): advancing seaweed farming for biofuels, bioplastics, and fertilisers.

The event also introduced the Adani Green Talks Social Impact Awards and the inaugural Lok Kalyan Award, conferred on Bharat Biotech founder Dr Krishna Ella for his contributions to public health, including the development of Covaxin. Accepting the award, Dr Ella dedicated it to India’s scientists and innovators, saying such platforms inspire the next generation “to dream with courage.”Actor Vikrant Massey, who recently won the National Award for 12th Fail, was also felicitated. Adani described his journey as a story of resilience that mirrored the spirit of the young innovators on stage.Adani announced that in partnership with NDTV, Green Talks would now expand into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities to discover grassroots innovators. The long-term goal, he said, is to create a global collaboration network where local talent can connect with peers worldwide.“Green Talks is about possibility - the green shoots that break through the hardest soil,” Adani said, framing it as an invitation to join India’s “second freedom struggle” for equality and innovation.Launched in 2021, Adani Green Talks has grown into a platform aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, connecting policy, entrepreneurship and global communities.
