A few days after the release of Idli Kadai, GV Prakash took to social media and shared a sweet glimpse of composing days with Dhanush for the film. He captioned the post "Throw back to composing days jamming
fun with @dhanushkraja… #ennasugam #idlikadai," Watch it below:
Earlier, he wrote on X, "Thanks, universe, for the blockbuster hit of #idlikadai. One more blockbuster this year after #goodbadugly. Thanks for the amazing response for the rooted music of #idlikadai. We tried folk mixed with spiritual. Especially En Paatan Saami Varum and Ethana Saami." GV Prakash, who has been one of Dhanush’s most trusted music collaborators over the years, has composed for several of the actor’s notable films including Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Mayakkam Enna, Asuran, and Vaathi. Their latest outing, Idli Kadai, marks their ninth project together and the second one this year after Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam.GV Prakash, who recently bagged a National Award for his music in Venky Atluri’s bilingual film Vaathi/Sir, revealed an interesting behind-the-scenes detail during the Idli Kadai audio launch. He shared that the team had actually offered him the role of Dhanush’s brother in the film, but he politely turned it down. He then added, "I'm ready to play a character in Thulluvadho Ilamai 2 if Dhanush directs. But I am not ready to play a role that betrays him. That's why I refused to play the brother role in Raayan. I won't betray my friend even in film. I wouldn't join the four people who are in the list of betrayed people." Lauding GV, Dhanush said, "He insisted on creating timeless melodies instead of reel-based songs. In today’s world, where music often lasts just ten seconds, it’s vital to deliver quality music for the next generation. Sai Abhyankar, you’re doing remarkable work—keep crafting great melodies." Idli Kadai stars Dhanush as Murugan and Nithya Menen as Kayal, with a strong supporting cast that includes Sathyaraj, Arun Vijay, Samuthirakani, Rajkiran, Shalini Pandey, and Parthiban.
