About Imtiaz Ali's upcoming film
Set in the 1940s, during the harrowing time of India’s Partition, the film explores the emotional and personal toll of mass migration and historical upheaval. Reportedly set in Punjab, the story follows a young couple torn apart by the events of the time. A source revealed, “While Sharvari plays a young woman opposite Vedang Raina, Imtiaz is currently in talks with two more prominent actresses for additional key roles. The narrative spans across generations, capturing the complexities of family and love during times of crisis.”Look tests with Sharvari and Vedang have already taken place, with full-scale production expected to commence in August. Interestingly, the story will focus on the emotional weight of migration without directly depicting Pakistan, only making brief references to it.
