Starring Rishab Shetty, Rukmini Vasanth and Gulshan Devaiah, the film promises to be bigger and better this time. It is the prequel to Rishab's 2022 film, Kantara.

A while ago, Hombale Films shared the official trailer of Kantara: Chapter 1 on YouTube. The Kantara: Chapter 1 trailer introduces Gulshan as King Kulasekhara. Rukmini, on the other hand, essays the character of Princess Kanakavathi. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur, the film has been scheduled for a theatrical release on October 2, 2025. It will clash with Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor's Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.

What is Rishab Shetty's role in Kantara: Chapter 1?
As per the film's synopsis, "Rishab Shetty transforms into a fierce Naga Sadhu, a warrior-mystic destined to become the bridge between mortals and the divine." As far as the film is concerned, it will revolve around, "Ancient rituals, supernatural forces, and tribal struggles collide in a cinematic spectacle like no other — this isn’t just a prequel, it’s the origin of a myth."
