Pradeep Ranganathan On Dude's Positive Response: This Is My First Diwali Release
Soon after Pradeep Ranganathan watched the FDFS of the film Dude with fans in theatre, press surrounded him to get a reaction. Talking to the media, Pradeep Ranganathan said he was thrilled to see the positive reception the film is getting. "I am so happy to see that audiences are loving the film, I am beyond thrilled because this is my first Diwali release. I will watch the film once again with audience during the festival of Diwali." Keerthishwaran, the film's director said "thank you for showering love on my first film."
Just before he entered theatres the director-actor was mobbed by fans while his staff protected him from and helped him to go towards the screen. Fans gathered and clicked selfies with Pradeep Ranganathan. Last week Pradeep Ranganathan received a welcome from fans when he toured across locations in Chennai and Hyderabad for the promotions of Dude. According to the trade website Sacnilk, Dude has collected Rs 3.97 crore net in India as of 5 PM on Friday. It has surpassed the opening of Love Today, which was directed by Pradeep Ranganathan.
The film had an opening of Rs 2.45 crore. Premalu had an opening of Rs 90 lakh, with both films generating solid numbers, depending on word of mouth. As for Pradeep Ranganathan's previous film Dragon, it had an opening of Rs 6.5 crore, which Dude is expected to beat by the end of the day. Dude also stars Neha Shetty, R Sarathkumar, Hridhu Haroon and Rohini. It is Mythri Movie Makers' second Tamil production.The film also stars Mamitha Baiju, Sarath Kumar and Rohini. The film has music composed by Sai Abhyankkar, cinematography handled by Niketh Bommi and editing by Barath Vikraman.
