‘Paneer Malai Tikka’ In Rs 92! ‘Affordable’ Zomato Bill From 7 Years Ago Leaves Netizens Nostalgic
You believe it or not, but there existed a time when ordering a full-fledged meal from online food delivery apps hardly cost any money. Sounds like a utopian situation? Well, it seems like this utopian scenario
did exist just a few years ago! Taking to social media, a man shared his Zomato bill from 7 years ago. Not only was the dish- ‘Paneer Malai Tikka’- hardly Rs 160, but the total cost of the bill was just Rs 92! Yes, there were no delivery charges, and the coupon actually seemed useful. As per the post, the man was simply scrolling down his app’s order history, which is when he came across the said bill. The man then went on to recall how such online food used to be the ultimate saviour, as it was affordable- unlike today, when food can easily cost Rs 300 or so.The post quickly went viral, leaving many reacting. Most recalled their own experience, while some pointed out the effects of inflation. Many also stated how restaurant rates have drastically increased over the years.Times Now could not confirm the authenticity of the post.

“Zomato order from 7 years ago,” the post read. “Just went scrolling down the order history, to see this order today. This was the time when zomato was actually affordable to order, ig swiggy was not made back then, not sure about this one? But the coupon code’s discount (back when coupons actually meant discount no gimmick) and that too from an outlet currently 9.6 km away from my home, and no delivery charges in sight… Those were the days of affordable eating, today the same order is around 300 rs from the same restaurant, ofc the price of the food item has almost doubled but yeah, would love to eat at home at these prices or in other words around the same affordability of food delivery apps,” added another. The post was shared on Reddit, by the handle ‘No-Win6448’. The post was shared yesterday and pulled more than 112K views from people.

I automatically thought maybe 2013-14 then i saw 2019..damn,” added another person. “Moments that no one would believe if they weren't recorded,” commented another. “Well every platform was affordable back then but compare it with the living costs and wages. Cannot get everything for less now. Always remember there are costs everywhere. If you are getting paneer chili at 150 then who is even making a profit. Zomato takes 30%. 100 left with the restaurant. You'll obviously get a fake paneer then. Not even enough to cover rent or salaries,” added another.ALSO READ: ‘Ab Dimag Bhi Khud Ka Istmaal Karu?’ Here’s Internet’s Hilarious Meltdown Amid ChatGPT Outage “I remember around 2019, my limit for ordering was 150rs max..Now it has changed to 300/350,” recalled the next. “When you said 7 years ago my mind went to the 2012-2013 era only to calculate and find out it was 2019.
