
Chinese smartphone giant Vivo on Wednesday officially announced the arrival of OriginOS 6 for its global users, including India. The new Android 16-based operating system is set to replace the existing
FuntouchOS on both Vivo and iQOO devices. According to the tech giant, the update aims to “redefine the way humans interact with devices in the age of AI.” The rollout is scheduled to begin soon and it brings a fresh interface, powerful AI features, and several system-level upgrades designed to make the user experience smoother and smarter. Here's everything you need to know.Top Features Of OriginOS 6The update introduces several notable features, starting with Origin Island, which cleverly makes use of the punch-hole notch and integrates Android 16’s Live Updates API. This feature provides real-time contextual suggestions, enabling quick actions like Copy and Go (instantly calling, messaging, or saving contacts after copying information) and Drag & Go (dragging images or data between apps for seamless multitasking). The lock screen and home interface have also received a major facelift. Users will find Flip Cards that dynamically shift with device tilt, a customisable Lock Screen Grid, and a new 4×7 Home Screen Grid layout for better organisation. System apps like iManager, Origin Health, and Immersive Weather have been redesigned to offer clearer task visibility.AI-Powered Tools AI is a big part of this update. Features like AI Retouch combine erase, expand, and enhance tools for image editing. AI Creation helps users write, summarise, or proofread content, while DocMaster makes editing PDFs and Word files a breeze.
