
Assam’s singer Zubeen Garg passed away on September 19, leaving fans across the country in deep sorrow. On Sunday, a huge crowd walked alongside the legendary musician on his final journey. The following day, September 22, thousands of admirers gathered at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex to pay their last respects. Long queues formed outside as people, overwhelmed with grief, came to bid him farewell. Earlier, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had announced that Garg’s mortal remains would be taken to Kamarkuchi village in Sonapur for state funeral rites on September 23.Now, in a new development, our reporter at Times Now has confirmed that Zubeen Garg’s body has been shifted to the Guwahati GMCH for a second post-mortem. The Chief Minister himself,
along with his team, escorted the remains. The second postmortem of Zubeen is underway with heavy security in place.
Earlier, the Assam CM also mentioned that Zubeen Garg’s death certificate listed the cause of death as “drowning.” He said, "The Singapore High Commission sent the death certificate of Zubeen Garg, and they mentioned the cause of death is drowning. But this is not a post-mortem report. The post-mortem report is different, and the death certificate is different. We will send the documents to CID. The Chief Secretary of the Assam Government is contacting the Singapore Ambassador to get the post-mortem report as soon as possible."For the unversed, Zubeen Garg had travelled to Singapore to attend the Northeast India Festival. His mortal remains were flown back to Delhi and then taken to Assam. May his soul rest in peace.
