Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that India did not react immediately to the 50% tariff imposed by the Donald Trump-led administration on Indian imports, as India has a broad-minded approach. The US has imposed a 50 per cent tariff, including 25 per cent as a penalty for buying Russian oil, on exports from India entering American markets."We didn't react...Those who are broad-minded and big-hearted do not react on anything immediately," Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said while interacting with the Indian community in Morocco.

Rajnath Singh is on an official visit to Morocco. Singh's visit to Morocco will be the first-ever trip to that country by an Indian defence minister.Singh will dedicate a plant set up by Tata Advanced Systems for the production of wheeled armoured personnel carriers in Morocco. The facility at Berrechid is the first-ever Indian defence manufacturing plant in Africa. The two countries will also be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Indian Navy ships have been making regular port calls at Casablanca in recent years, and this agreement will further consolidate such ties, the ministry said in a statement.
What Rajnath Singh Said On Operation Sindoor And PoK
During his address, Rajnath Singh also spoke about the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam and India's response to it. Operation Sindoor targeted terrorists for their actions rather than their religion, while leaving any civilian or military establishment untouched, Singh said. "Ab bharat ki vishesha dekho, atankwadio ne deshvashiyo ka dharam puch kar mara, Magar hum logo ne kisi ka dharm dekh kar nahi, unka karm dekh kar maara hai," he said.
Further, Rajnath Singh expressed confidence in India getting back control of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) without taking any aggressive steps. "PoK will be ours on its own. Demands have started being made in PoK, you must have heard sloganeering," the Minister said during his interaction with the Indian community in Morocco.
