‘His WFH: Structured Day, Mine: Invisible Labour’: Woman Points Out Difference Between Her & Husband’s WFH
Work From Home does not sound like heaven to everyone. For some employees- specifically many married women- working from home is less about no commute and working from bed while sitting in the most comfortable
outfit, and more about juggling office tasks with house chores. Highlighting the same, a woman shared a day in her life- doing work from home, while comparing the same with a day in her husband’s life- also busy working from home. The woman, Monisha Sri, first described her husband’s work. The day was mostly about waking up at 8 AM, going to the gym, logging in, doing office work till 7 PM, and getting three meals in the day– without getting interrupted. The woman then began to describe her day- which began at 7 AM, as she first had to prepare breakfast before logging in. The rest of the day was an exhausting mix of office work and housework, including preparing three meals throughout the day and serving the same to her husband. She too logged out by 7 PM, only to continue preparing dinner. The woman then pointed out the clear difference between the responsibilities she and her husband shared, where the husband hardly had any. She further pointed out how THIS is the harsh reality of many married women in India, and asked people to be more understanding towards such a working population. The post went viral in an instant, leaving many sympathising, while some suggested to not marry. Many also encouraged women to insist that their husbands take equal household responsibilities.Times Now could not confirm the authenticity of the post.

Hiring a house help/maid doesn't help much. On top they need supervision. Salaries have become stagnant compared to urban inflation. As a husband of an amazingly super woman I can fully relate to your grind. We males really are no match when it comes to multitasking. Salute to all the warriors like you,” a user said. “After finishing work from home we start work from home literally!!!” added another person. “So true.
