Late-night in Bengaluru, when most options seemed exhausted, one woman's auto driver turned an ordinary ride into an unforgettable act of kindness. Entrepreneur Varun Agarwal shared his experience on X
after being stranded in Indiranagar, unable to find a cab and repeatedly refused by other auto drivers for a ride to Koramangala.“No auto was willing to go to Koramangala and every auto guy said no to me. I must have walked for almost a kilometre when I found this lady auto driver parked on the side of the road,” he recounted. At first, the driver told him she was done for the day and was heading home. But as Agarwal began to walk away, she called him back and agreed to take him to his destination.“I told her it's okay, I'll find some other auto, but she insisted and took me all the way to Koramangala,” he added. The fare hadn’t been discussed beforehand, but Agarwal expected it to be around Rs 300, similar to Uber charges. To his surprise, the driver asked for only Rs 200. “I told her it’s too less but she said it's okay. I insisted on paying Rs 300,” he said, calling it “one of the best auto experiences” he has had recently. He concluded the post with a simple yet powerful message: “We need more women auto drivers.”
