Upadhyay and Smriti Irani reunited after 25 years for Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. They reprised their iconic characters Mihir and Tulsi for the Ektaa Kapoor show's new season. In a recent interview, the television actor reacted to his and Smriti's comparisons with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The KSBKBT 2 actor laughed off the comparisons, but also mentioned that Mihir and Tulsi are 'OGs of romance'.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Amar laughed when at thought of he and Smriti being referred to Shah Rukh and Kajol of television. "Mihir and Tulsi are the OGs of romance," he said. The actor also noted that their experience of working for years reflects on screen. "We just read our lines and know what is required for the scene, what can make it stronger, and more impactful," added Amar. In the same conversation, the actor revealed that he recently had to turn down a show off. Wondering why? The actor mentioned, "I am so tied up with Kyunki... that I cannot take them up as Mihir and Tulsi are there in almost every scene."
