Garg's cousin Sandipan Garg, a cop in Assam, has been arrested with regard to the singer's suspicious death on September 19 in Singapore. Sandipan, an Assam Police Service (APS) officer, was nabbed on Wednesday, October 8. As per reports, he was allegedly present at the location when the unfortunate incident on a yatch took Zubeen's life.

Sandipan was taken into custody after several rounds of interrogations were conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) with several people close to Zubeen. His arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation. He will ow be brought before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court.SIT chief and Special DGP (CID) Munna Prasad Gupta confirmed the arrest. He told ANI, “The SIT/CID of Assam Police have arrested an APS officer, Sandipan Garg, in connection with the singer Zubeen Garg death case.”SIT/CID has arrested five people so far, including main event organiser of the Northeast India Festival Shyamkanu Mahanta, Zubeen’s manager Siddharth Sharma, his bandmate Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, co-singer Amritprava Mahanta, and Sandipan Garg.Zubeen Garg's death
