Rani Mukerji recently opened up about her father Ram Mukerji’s reaction when she didn’t win the National Award for her 2005 film Black. In a recent event, Rani revealed there was widespread chatter that she would win, but when she didn’t, it deeply disappointed her father.

Speaking at an event in Delhi, Rani recalled her dedication to the film, said, “I gave my all in Black. I was only 25 at that time. Even when you do your best work, things might not always go in your favor.” She also noted that director Sanjay Leela Bhansali was disappointed with the outcome.

Father’s Heartbreak and Lessons Learned

She added, “My father was very disappointed and heartbroken, as was Sanjay. But I believe when things are meant to happen, they happen.
