In an exclusive chat with Times Now Group Editor-in-Chief Navika Kumar, the Animal actor opened up about how the Deol family’s life has transformed, from Gadar 2’s historic success to his own film Animal becoming one of the biggest blockbusters of 2023. He also spoke about the emotional bond he shares with brother Sunny Deol and how his wife Tanya supported him during his toughest days.

Talking about how the success brought immense happiness to his family, Bobby said, “That whole year had been great for all of us. Papa’s film got so much love (Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani). And then my nephew got married and we got a daughter in a house because there are only boys in the house. And then, my brother’s Gadar was this massive hit. Then my film came and it became a massive hit.”The actor recalled how emotional it was to witness both brothers delivering major hits one after another. “My brother, me, just looked at each other. When Bhaiya’s hit Gadar became hit, he didn’t know what to say because he didn’t believe that this whole thing has changed for him. You know, and when my film ran, we just looked at each other and didn’t know what to say to each other. We were just so happy that God is being so kind. I mean it’s just amazing how things have changed.”

Reflecting on his earlier struggles, Bobby candidly admitted that the film industry can be brutal when one is not doing well. “When you go through a bad time in your career, you start feeling unwanted. You feel like you actually literally get ignored. You know that’s how ruthless the world is. And it looks more ruthless because that is a normal way of dealing in your work in your profession. When you are not doing well people don’t look at you, ask you for anything. But it looks, feels ruthless with the person to whom it’s happening.”He further shared that it was his wife, Tanya Deol, who stood by him like a rock through that difficult phase. “You make the world seem like oh my God, they’re against me. And my wife was the only one kept saying why do you have less self-esteem? You are so amazing. You are so good looking. You are so good at your work as an actor. Why are you doing this to yourself, and I could not understand that at that point. But she never gave up on me.”
