Magudam was initially helmed by Ravi Arasu, with the cast including Dushara Vijayan, Anjali, and Yogi Babu. The announcement of Vishal taking over as director comes at a pivotal moment in the film’s production. An official announcement on the same is likely to be made soon. Ravi Arasu took to social media to share photos of temple visit for the success of his film Magudam. Going by his post it looks like Vishal is working as co-director for certain portions.
Previously, Vishal revealed his looks for the project. The film marks the 99th production of production house Super Good Films, headed by RB Choudary. The title teaser features a sequence involving various sea creatures, followed by scenes of a harbour and shipping containers. The teaser has a shot of Vishal, overlooking the harbour. The film has music by GV Prakash, cinematography is by Richard M Nathan, and editing is by Srikanth NB. G Durairaj is the production designer.Earlier, Vishal was supposed to direct Thupparivalan 2 after over taking the project from director Mysskin, but the film remains uncompleted.
