Social media is once again debating “civic sense in India” after a video showed paan masala stains on a temple wall and used Amul lassi packets thrown beside the premises. The video was reportedly recorded

at Vindhyachal Dham, which was recently reconstructed, with the UP government spending crores on its restoration. The clip has sparked widespread criticism online.The video has been reshared across multiple social media platforms. It was originally posted on Instagram by a user identified as Dhirendra Pratap Singh and later reshared on X (formerly Twitter) by the page @WokePandemic, with the caption, “Yogi Govt spent hundreds of crores on this Temple Corridor. But our Zubaan Kesari cult did what they are best at doing.”In the video, the man filming can be heard saying, “Civic sense itni mamuli cheez nahi hai iss desh main. Yeh hai Vindhyachal Dham jo Yogi sarkaar ne bada hi bhavya banaya hai. Abhi aapko bata du, recent main yeh jo Amul ki dukaan hai woh yahan par khuli hai, aur uske saamne yeh dham ke saath bada hi sundar mandir dikh jayega.'' He added, ''Aur just bagal main dekhiye yeh haal dekhne ko milega — yahi saari Amul ki lassi phek di gayi hai. Yahi par paan masala thook thook kar laal kar diya hai. Yeh saamne dekhiye mandir hai aur wahin bagal main yeh haal hai. Mere video banate waqt ek banda thook ke chala gaya, meri video main wo aa gaya toh keh raha hai kahin daal mat dena video.” (“And just next to it, look at this condition — all the Amul lassi packets have been thrown here. The video has since gone viral, garnering massive outrage and reigniting the debate on civic sense in India. One user wrote, “Most Indians completely lack social behaviour. You should post the person who spat in front of you. We should name and shame them.” Another commented, “Pan masala should be banned in India.” A third added, “Indians have zero civic sense.”
